Eiffel Tower, Paris

Also known as the "Iron Woman," Eiffel Tower is an iconic symbol of the City of Lights. You’ve no doubt admired this tower in countless films, but when you see it for the first time you'll be blown away by its magnificent scale and grandeur. Gustave Eiffel built the 325-m (1,063 ft) tower in 1889, and for 40 years this was the tallest structure in the world. As you ascend to the third level, realize you’re climbing to the highest accessible observatory platform open to the public in the entire European Union. On the first and second levels, dine in the restaurants, shop in the boutiques, and enjoy breathtaking city views. An audio guide and an iPhone app in English offer historical and cultural tidbits. Taking the Métro to the Ecole Militiare stop, then strolling up Champ de Mars, is a lovely way to arrive. Plan to see Eiffel Tower and other attractions that appeal to you using our Paris planner .

  • The top part of the renovation, but then tasoltakin excellent views of the city skyline. There is congestion. We bought tickets in advance via the getyourguide-and we also got a really good tutorial. Security check two more times. The first district and the bond between the main body of the tower.

  • We were lucky enough to get in the afternoon so we saw the sunset from the Tour and saw light in night city. Bella also sight from 3° floor (top) where you can admire the whole of Paris and beyond ...

  • I first visited this amazing structure in 1968 when you could walk under it without paying and there were no suicide rails and the views of Paris were just amazing. I went up to the second floor then ...  more »

  • While I absolutely love the Eiffel Tower for its history, architectural prowess and it's beauty I wouldn't recommend climbing up. Why? Because similar views can be got from a few other locations without all the drama and waste of time. We went up at a time when it was considered to be quiet. And despite that we had to queue up for around 45 minutes for a security check that only allows you into the Eiffel Tower area. Then we had to queue for another half hour to buy our tickets to the first and second floors of the tower. Another security check and a 10-minute queue got us into an elevator to the second floor. Once there we had to queue for an hour and a half to buy tickets to go to the top. If you fancy being stuck 150m high with screaming, I'll-mannered children everywhere and even more ill-mannered parents (a reflection of our times) this would be your dream come true. On the other hand, the tower can truly be appreciated from the riverside just below, especially when it lights up at about 8pm. Hop onto one of many river boat pubs, grab a glass of wine and soak in the beautiful Parisian atmosphere that movies are made of, while enjoying views of the Eiffel tower. It really is remarkable. At 11pm it breaks out into a show of sparkles for 5 minutes.
  • This place is a lovely landmark with plenty of vendors surrounding its area. I would recommend to arrive early if you want to go up the tower. It costs 5 euros if you want to take the steps but i will advise you its not an easy climb considering the tower has 1000 steps. 9am to 11am would be the perfect time becasue as the day progresses the lines begin to fill.
  • City view from the top floor was amazing. It's good to book an advance ticket; just to bypass the long queue. There are 3 levels; the first & second floors are accessible via lift and floors and top one by lift. The place is very busy. if you are traveling with baby buggies you have to fold and carry them as the queue to lifts are narrow and congested. I visited during day time so could see everything well but missed the view with lights. (First impression was like a normal tower in daylight) The view from lift (2nd to top floor) was great and not to be missed.
  • There is strict security upon entering the premises of the tower. Additionally, as a result of its popularity there are large crowds and long lines. I think it's worth the wait. I only went to first level and the view was great. I could see a great deal of Paris and it was beautiful. It's also mind blowing to try to look up to the top of the tower.
  • Amazing marvel Construct by humans. Mankind proved their talent 100 yrs back. The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. you have to stand in the long Q. but worth to stand. night time as it is much more lively and it lights up with beautiful colours €17 per adult and €14.50 for under 23. This price takes you to the top. total 276 floor

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
