#8 of 75 in Parks in Paris
Currently the seat of the French Senate, Luxembourg Palace is a 17th-century palace with original artwork and a grand salon you can tour. The palace was commissioned by Marie de Médici in 1625, and the painting "Coronation of Marie de' Médici in St.-Denis" is displayed in the Gallery of Residents. Also look for portraits of Anne, Duchess of Montpensier; Louis XVIII of France; and Cardinal Richelieu. • The gardens were a very nice spot to rest. It was beautiful and the atmosphere felt very French with so many locals hanging out in the gardens  more »

  • 17TH century Luxembourg Palace from the outside looks great especially surrounded by even nicer from the Luxembourg Gardens. From 1799 onwards is the seat of the Senate of France which unfortunately means that his tour is at least very difficult (only in groups after arranging an appointment). Too bad.

  • Long queue. But it's free on European heritage day. I side decoration is magnificent and luxury. Visit the library
  • The park is stunning. Escape from the city but still inside. Lovely for kids, reading books, little boats for kids to hire €4 to play with in the pond.
  • Incredible outdoor experience. Buy a sandwich and relax on the grass with a bottle of wine. Couldn't have had a better afternoon.
  • Awesome place too just sit and relax for an hour and escape. Take a picnic, or at least jambon et formage and pick up so bread and a drink en route. If you can't be bothered with that, there's plenty of places around the as you approach to get something. It's a really beautiful place too chill. For kids there are donkey rides and also hire a wooden sail boat to float in the pond.
  • Wonderful parc to walk around at any time of the year. And museum in the parc with great exhibitions.

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
