Noboribetsu Bear Park, Noboribetsu

3.3
Meet the inhabitants of Noboribetsu Bear Park, an animal observation facility located at the summit of the mountain. Separated by age and sex, the 200 brown bears here have been raised in the facility, with the institution growing from a population of just eight in 1958. Head into the "cage for humans" to see the bears from their own perspective, and feed them salmon and meatballs, which you can buy on site. A museum reveals the history of brown bears on the island, their behavior in the wild, and their cultural importance to the indigenous population. • I went on August 2017, at that time the weather was perfect in Hokkaido. As my first destination in Noboribetsu I visited the bears, luckily I was able to see a cub too. In addition to bears, the were...  more »
  • 2,592 yen including the aerial tramway. Climb considerably to the gondola station to get to follow without. Pretty tight. View from the ropeway in winter especially not good. To arrive at the bear Park stand out its aging facility. Cute tease feeding bears also 10 several poses itself. Duck race is shoboi. Come Park who are overseas in Asia only. Apparently the Japanese seems not come. No one is talking about in Japan. Dining room dining room is Dim and in health terms whether or not think. For people overseas would not raise the level more, leading to damage the image of noboribetsu.

  • It was in the middle of the winter but the bears were all still out and there were many ready to be fed. They all looked healthy and well cared for  more »

  • A must when you are in the area especially when you are enjoying the onsens. Most hotels/ryokans offer free shipping bus the the bear park when you then ride a cable car to the top of the mountain. It's a spectacular view. There and many bears in the park where you are able to view feed the bears, cookies and apples for a small fee of 100-200yen.
  • Wonderful time with bears. So fun feeding them.
  • Another place to go if you can get a chance to visit Noboribetsu. It can't be denied that the price is a little bit too high compared to the fact that they don't have so many things to do inside especially during the Winter. Anyway, I believe that it can be a good experience to rode on the ropeway, and see some bears in the park.
  • nice atmosphere at the top. you can feed bear yourself. but you need to walk up on slippery slope to the base of the ropeway.
  • Excited experience to see the Bears, Take cable car (10 mins) to this park. you can buy the snack food (Yen 200) to feed bears. Moreover, Ducks racing is very funny. you can also understand the history of Bear in the museum.
