Osaka Castle, Osaka

4.0
Built and rebuilt numerous times since 1653, Osaka Castle looms over its surrounding gardens, moats, imposing stone walls, gates, and turrets. Take the elevator up to the observation deck on the castle’s eighth floor, or wander the garden between the complex’s many structures, stopping in the tea house for a snack. The castle, originally intended to help with the unification of Japan, was captured and changed hands over a dozen times. Visit the museum within to learn more about the castle’s history. • The queues can be quite dissapointing at times. Early riser would definitely benefit from the queue. The long queue is for machine ticket and the shorter queue is for discounted ticket using Railpass ...  more »
  • Ride Subway in the Sen ノ Palace, walk to the top of the day to keep loft need to spend a little bit of feet, the environment is clean, if you have a weekly ticket visitors, you can also try a cruise river, it is not bad experience, walking tired, there are small cars near the ferry can send you to the subway, entrance to the Osaka Hall also has a restaurant to eat.

  • We chose to go here a very warm day in June. Many puffing hot people on the slopes up here! However, it was worth it to get here. Green and beautiful. We hopped over to go into the Castle or boat trip. Instead we went to a place called "Blue Birds Rooftop Terrace '. A square brick building. Here on the roof there was a roof terrace with great views. You can cook their own bbq at the table for lunch or dinner. But also just have a glass of slightly higher cost. Recommended!

  • Seeing it from the edge of the park made it all the more exciting for us to reach the castle. However, after paying the 600 yen admission fee and getting inside, I was a little surprised by the how little of the old castle was preserved. Regardless, it was a beautifully assembled history museum with a variety of national relics relevant to the castle. The top floor had an amazing view over the entire city. Having arrived a bit later in the day, 4pm, there were relatively few people and by the time of closing very few people were there.
  • Absolutely an amazing place to view from any distance. It's quite a walk, about 20 minutes to the admissions, which costs about 600 yen per adult. Closes a tad early at around 16:30, but later during the summer. The view of the outside alone is worth the trip if you can't get in. Once inside, it's actually a museum. It's crowded inside and you walk around the center staircase reading about the history of the castle. It's interesting to say nonetheless, but I thought the interior would more traditional. It was still very nice to see. The top floor has a balcony to view Osaka from the castle.
  • A majestic castle looking from far and near. After undergoing its recent renovations, it looks rich in histories yet new and clean. The park is a nice and peaceful place. Definitely worth to pay for the entrance fee to visit it's interior galleries and observatory deck. Furthermore, the fast food stand located right before the castle park entrance is definitely a must try. It sells food and snacks from ice cream to hotdogs, allowing you to savour while enjoying the beauty of the castle
  • Free to walk through the park and look at the fortifications. You can easily spend a couple of hours here. History volunteers are available in some locations to provide information about the castle for free. You can go right up to the castle and get some great photos. If you want to go in then you need to pay a small fee. Also consider visiting in the evening for a quieter experience.
  • It's beautiful and a remake so I didn't go inside, but in saying that the queue was so long I didn't really want to go inside! Get here early for opening to have an easy and relaxed time, I got here around midday and it was packed. Still a lovely experience and Osaka castle is stunning so definitely go see it even if you don't intend to go inside. I think it was 500¥ for entry for people who want to go inside
