Playa Delfines, Cancun

4.6
#1 of 18 in Parks in Cancun
Escape the tourist crowds by visiting Playa Delfines, one of Cancun's few uncrowded beaches. With slightly rougher sand and choppier water than some of the other spots nearby, this stretch of coastline compensates for a lack of modern amenities with fine views and a peaceful atmosphere. Ideal for those tired of throngs of vacationers, this little getaway also offers public parking--another rare plus. All that said, you do need to be mindful of riptides and heavy currents if you decide to swim here, so check the signs for the current conditions. • Views are absolutely beautiful, cloudy or sunny the Vista is amazing. Shallow waters, white sands and several shades of turquoise sea. A nesting place for turtles, however not during January, not one ...  more »

  • Nice public beach in Cancun, it has exactly what you would expect from the Caribbean, white sands and clear water. However, the beach has strong currents. The place has facilities for food and drinks, umbrellas and lounge chair renting, changing bathrooms, toilets and showers. Arrive early if you want to get a free spot under the shade to avoid renting umbrellas.
  • Beautiful beach with pristine blue waters. It has little huts that are convenient for your cold drinks and when the sun is directly above you. Otherwise you have to move along with the shade in a super hot day. They have showers and restrooms (these are free but you can choose to tip the attendant). There are also people selling food. The food can be pricy but don't be fooled it's not from the hotel is a local selling it out if they're car while some one on foot sells it at the beach. If you walk up to the parking lot and but it directly from the vendor it will be cheaper than if you buy it off the guy walking the beach.
  • Beautiful beach! Lots of space for activities and people. Bus stops right in front of the beach. The "Cancun" sign is a good spot for pictures - there is usually a line though.
  • Best beach in the hotel zone. It's not attached to any hotel, so it's not as crowded. There is parking, and transportation to and from on the buses is really cheap (like 12 pesos). Will recommend to anyone going to Cancun.
  • Beautiful Beach, this is where the Cancun sign is for Photographs. Everyone was very polite, usually see Police around here. There is a life guard on duty, there is a bar and massage area as well. Turtles lay eggs here, they are protected, but there were none while we were there.

Where to stay in Cancun

Cancun's accommodations cater to everyone from spring-break partygoers to distinguished luxury seekers. By far the most densely developed area for hotels is the boomerang-shaped Punta Nizuc-Cancun and the connecting Bulevar Kukulcan, projecting out into the sea and offering prime beach access. Among the stylish resorts, you can find expansive party hostels offering large swimming pools. If you'd like a more independent Cancun vacation, consider staying at one of the private rentals scattered along the coast.
