#4 of 13 in Nature in Tulum
Just 10 minutes from downtown Tulum, Casa Cenote boasts a natural open cavern fed by water that flows into the Caribbean Sea. Nestled above a large underground cave system and set in a scenic mangrove forest, the cenote offers a picturesque place to escape the heart. Swim in the vibrant turquoise water of the cenote, meandering among the mangrove trees, while millions of small tropical fish swim around you and colorful birds sing in the trees. • We visited the cenote, and the truth is not of this world. Do not take guide not worth for nothing. They are 250 metres away where there are not more than 3 fish and that Yes, an alligator from a meter that can cross it you swimming. Any day are an annoyance. The guys who work are vague, it costs them up to get out of the Chair.

  • $80 USD for two paddleboards? And consistantly trying to push a guide on us? $500 pesos to use a camera? We had to walk away because as usual in Mexico we felt that we were being taken advantage of. W...  more »
  • The light, turquoise color of the calm water, little colorful fish, and on the designs of the roots on the sides made snorkeling here very relaxing and magical. No need for a guide.  more »

  • Great location on ocean across from Manatee (Casa) Cenote. Food is good and well priced Service is slow sometimes disappearing altogether. Texas themed buffet on Sunday afternoons is unique. Even though the restaurant is associated with the hotel, the restaurant doesn't take credit cards. We too had to wait more than 30 minutes to pay after receiving our check.
  • A great place with a beautiful sea view, coktails and food are very good! Five stars deserved :)
  • A spectacular place to have a great and relax time. Snorkeling and scuba are the activities that you can do here. blue fresh water. on the middle of the mayan jungle. Cost per person: $120 mx. Open from 8 am to 6 pm
  • This is a great spot for having a bite with an INCREDIBLE view. Local Mexican food is very good, but it's the view that make this place special. Just across the road is Casa Cenote. When you're finished with a refreshing snorkel on a hot day, quench your thirst and have a bite here, you won't regret it.
  • Great location right on the beach, but the service isn't great. They do a bbq on Sunday which has lots of locals and others but there were only 2 waiters on. Only managed 1 set of drinks then had to wait over 30 mins to pay despite people waiting for a table. Be aware of the menu prices THEY DON'T INCLUDE TAXES. So actually this means the cost is probably more than the 2 nicer places next door.

Where to stay in Tulum

Most accommodations in Tulum make the most of the region's scenic coastline, offering sea views and easy beach access along the coastal Route 15. This area, known as the Hotel Zone, includes everything from basic, budget-friendly "cabanas" (beach shacks) to large-scale beach resorts. For proximity to the town's famous Mayan ruins, stay at the northern end of this coastal stretch. If you want easier access to amenities and ongoing connections, look to the township itself, located a short drive from the beach.
