  • You can admire the Royal Palace only from the outside. The way is lined with marble floors and colorful flower beds.

  • Visit quick to snap a few pictures from the outside. The set is beautifully maintained and watching from the fence there are large green spaces and many buildings. Beautiful and colorful details of the gate. Too bad not being able to visit parts of the Interior.

  • We were able to view the exterior of the Royal Palace both from the road, and water. the Palace is very large. I'll post a picture taken from our cruise ship as we were leaving Muscat  more »

  • A magnificent and a beautiful building! It is located right next to the fort and is situated along the coast. The palace gates always remain closed and visitors are not allowed inside the palace grounds. There are a lot of other beautiful government buildings around it as well and the national museum is located right opposite to the palace. The area it is situated in itself is very very beautiful. One quick tip! Do go down along the road to the back gate of the palace. It has an amazing amazing view of the sea, the palace and the fort. Ample parking available outside the palace and also quite a few behind the palace.
  • King's palace in old Muscat city. The architecture of the building is wonderful. Anyone can go near the front gate and look at the palace. If you are traveling from public bus, you need to get the route no.4 bus. And the last stop is in front of the palace.
  • Great place to take a picture. The palace always closed for the tourist because it still used by the Sultan to meet him gusts and it not for staying for him. But you can reach to the gate and take great pictures. Have a great time
  • Before going here I have read several reviews that they are strict here, they won't allow you to take pictures, things like these. But when I visited the palace I had no issues. One guard at the back of the palace facing the sea was even friendly, asked me if I'm from Japan, hehe. The palace is not extravagant, simple but elegant.
  • It's one of the most beautiful palace which is surrounded with Museum. If you are in muscat then it's a must place to visit. Tourist are allowed near the Palace and do visit the backside of the Palace which is connected to the sea. Wow place :)
