#1 of 19 in Things to do in Walbrzych
Get to know the history of "the pearl of Lower Silesia" and its residents at Ksiaz Castle. The original castle was built on a rock cliff surrounded by the forest in the 13th century, and it was reconstructed in the 18th century. Follow the tracks of the Hochberg's through the Baroque salons, along the rock of fortune, onto the terraces, and into a tunnel. Nazi Germans built the tunnel 15 m (49 ft) under the castle during World War II. The castle also houses an art gallery, two restaurants, and three hotels. Additional attractions include the entrance to the castle tower, castle stables, coach house, tomb chapel, and indoor arena built entirely of larchwood without any nails. • Very beautiful review site, a park with centuries-old trees, which squirrels. The castle was plundered because not so impressive interiors, but impressive history. Underground passages, legends, hidden treasures, stories about the owners of the castle-still need to walk behind the Guide) we are very lucky with this lucky-the whole story we told local guide, with humor and love and to the Castle and its history! There are three hotels in the castle-in spite of all the legends, will gladly would remain there overnight-and stunning atmosphere.

  • Książ Castle is an atmospheric place well worth a visit. Especially I recommend guided tours, because explore may prove to be inadequate. Around the Castle are as charming. It could be hours, enjoy the surrounding countryside.

  • Amazing palace and gardens. The best overview of it are from the neighborhood scrap. Underground tunnels and interior worth seeing just for the history, especially interesting are the old photographs of tge place. Also 30-40 minutes walk from Książ there are ruins from older / first Książ castle that can be seen.
  • Amazing castle, lots of history and no empty rooms. Castle was restored and now you almost feel you will dine or play with those who leaved there trough the ages. Nice and warm inside so good for visit even during winter. If you like to see it in full beauty choose non winter months as it is even more gourges surrounded with it's greenery.
  • Fantastic spot. English electronic tour guide that my husband was using. Wow application in polish very useful in the castle specially for the kids that were board half way through and could listen worries about the castle.
  • We often visit this place because it has a kind of soul there. It's better to visit it when there are not so many people around. The castle is wonderful. The history of it and its owners is sad. The park is full of old trees that keep that history inside. There are many events in the castle. If somebody wants to feel it like living in the castle they have an opportunity to stay in one of three hotels that are located nearby.
  • 100% worth visiting. Even during the winter time. Audioguides in multiple languages would be a great addition. In Chinese, Japanese especially. Place has a great potential but doesn't know how to promote itself.
