Lazienki Palace (Palac Lazienkowski), Warsaw

4.6
Go back to the time of Saxon kings at Lazienki Palace (Palac Lazienkowski), an 18th-century Baroque palace and a former royal residence that originally was erected as a bathing pavilion. The building, richly decorated with stuccos, statues, and paintings, is bordered by ponds, canals, and gardens of the city's royal baths park. Look for a painting of a silenus with bacchants in the Bacchus room. The Neoclassical rotunda decorated in yellow and white marble with figures of the Polish kings occupies the central portion of the palace. Go to the picture gallery on the other side of the rotunda, which features minor works by Rubens and Rembrandt. The palace also houses royal apartments, a king's cabinet, royal bed chambers, a cloakroom, and an officer's room. • great location in the Centre of the city to rest without restrictions, it is useful to look once, and certainly will return, is a taste of free nature (łażące after its huge stately peacocks), unfortunately hard to see fish because of the murky water-well, unless someone fish pronounced accommodation)

  • Every time I get I will choose the this place is extraordinary. Charm and climate associated with it are not average. I think everyone who lives or was once in Warsaw visited this place and felt the climate that is typed in this charming corner of Warsaw.

  • One of the most beautiful parks in Warsaw. Located very close to the city center, and the river. The park is big enough to take your 3-4 hours for a random walk. There is much to see in the park ranging from the palace, lakes, Chopin's concert, Chinese garden and lush green landscape. The Autumn view of the park with colourful maple leaves is breath-taking.
  • Amazing palace inside the park You will like it very much and enjoy the history with beautiful nature and trees I have good experiences with this place and always like to see it and spend good time there Also the place very good and safe for kids And good at all for family
  • Nice place, bit croweded. Didn't get in, yet outside view and surrounding are beautiful.
  • not only th epalace but the whole park is so beautiful. I envy the poeple living here who have the opportunity toi visit this park more often.
  • I visited Warszawa many time, but somehow it took me many years to finally visit the 'Palace on the Water'. That finally took place in 2015. I wish I had done that visit earlier. From the outside it doesn't look like the most impressive, because of it's size. The very pleasant, big surprise is in the inside. Beautiful, colorful room with polished floors and many soft colors. It doesn't take hours to take the audioguide tour, but it is a tour you will take slowly. Simply because you want to have a closer look on many details in the different rooms. Excellent. Personal opinion: I liked Wilanow Palace, but I think I prefer Lazienkpalace above Wilanow!

Where to stay in Warsaw

Many centrally located hotels in Warsaw cater mostly to business travelers, which makes them much too expensive for backpackers and other visitors on a limited budget. Although hostels may seem like the only affordable option at the height of the season, you can find less expensive lodgings in mid-range hotels on the outskirts of town. Alternatively, time your visit for the weekend, when many hotels near the city center slash their prices and offer special deals for early booking.
