Market Square (Rynek), Wroclaw

4.8
As you admire the elegant townhouses lining Market Square (Rynek), bear in mind that at the end of World War II, this area was little more than a pile of bricks. A symbol of Poland's ability to rise from the ashes, this square underwent careful restoration after the war. See a replica of a medieval pillory used to flog people for over three centuries. Take in the variety of architectural styles, ranging from Baroque to Art Nouvea. At the center of the area, visit the Gothic town hall, considered a masterpiece of medieval architecture. The historic building houses a museum and a basement restaurant. Put Market Square (Rynek) at the forefront of your travel plans using our Wroclaw travel route builder .

  • Like all central Square in European cities, this surprise also for the architecture. Has several cafés and bars. In this Easter season riding a Carnival. Worth every minute.

  • The market in Wrocław, I consider one of the most beautiful in Europe, immediately you fall in love. Full of people and the atmosphere of the meetings to which they serve coffee shops, which are located on each face of the market and the beautiful and historic town hall in the Centre of the market.

  • A great place with many beautiful and restored houses, where there are many Cafés and restaurants. The City Hall is located in the middle of the square. Right next to it the Elisabeth Church. To pass the time, little dwarfs - great fun for adults and children are everywhere in the area.

  • Beautiful square with renovated candy-like houses. All the roads lead from here :) A lot of locations to eat/drink/have fun. I would specially recommend Spiz and Cafe Lily. Also don't forget about the museum in the main building in the very center of this square. During the Christmas time the whole space is occupied with wooden small shopping houses, where you can buy food and souvenirs, produced locally. So, just go there and see it with your own eyes :)
  • An absolute hidden gem. A stunning market square filled with multi-coloured buildings. Full of nice bars and restaurants there’s plenty of choice to suit all tastes and budgets. Picturesque from every angle. A must see if you’re visiting Poland.
  • The market Square looks amazing at this time of year. Very Christmasy with 4 or 5 streets worth of stalls with gifts and souvenirs. So much traditional Polish food and sweet treats. A prefect place to pick up some great stocking fillers. Prices for the mulled wine and other hot drinks are a little expensive, but it's to be expected at this type of event. As Christmas markets go this one is excellent.
  • Perfect square.. More beautiful than krakow
  • Rynek in Wrocław is one of Europe’s hidden gems. For some reason it is not on many people’s radar. As charming as Bruge or Amsterdam but without the cost. Don’t tell anyone I told you :)
