Market Square (Rynek), Wroclaw

4.8
As you admire the elegant townhouses lining Market Square (Rynek), bear in mind that at the end of World War II, this area was little more than a pile of bricks. A symbol of Poland's ability to rise from the ashes, this square underwent careful restoration after the war. See a replica of a medieval pillory used to flog people for over three centuries. Take in the variety of architectural styles, ranging from Baroque to Art Nouvea. At the center of the area, visit the Gothic town hall, considered a masterpiece of medieval architecture. The historic building houses a museum and a basement restaurant. Put Market Square (Rynek) at the forefront of your travel plans using our Wroclaw travel route builder .

  • Christmas market is great fun with a good choice of mulled wine to drink from the boot mugs. Outside of Christmas it's also a fun place to visit with entertainers and loads of bars and restaurants to choose from.
  • One of the most beautiful squares on earth. In Poland, I believe is one of the most beautiful. In Europe too. Visit all what you can do around. Eat, buy, spend nice time and more!
  • Lovely quaint place. Lots of interesting buildings, a trail of gromes to follow too. Street entertainers, lots of bars restaurants n coffee shops. Well worth a visit
  • During the whole year it's beautiful, but in December before Christmas it turns into a mini Disneyland. Trust me or not but there's no other place in Poland like this one.
  • Beautiful spot to just sit and watch people go past enjoying the christmas spirit . 5* place to visit with it bars , coffee shops and its christmas market
