  • It is a station for where there are many people on the day, but for those who love trains is a fantastic site, with the magic of the central stations in big cities.

  • We took the AVE (fast train) from Madrid to Barcelona from the Atocha Train Station. Big station, good signage, easy access, and places to rest and eat some snacks before you board. Very helpful staff...  more »
  • So depressing thing in which spend so many people a day and do not have banks so that waiting for trains becomes shorter. Station of the largest and most important of Spain or possibly the best and pass this. As the baths are paid for...

  • When it's busy it's the ninth circle of hell. Beautiful grove of trees in centre of station. Cafe de la estacion is excellent for coffee and croissants
  • A good place to informal meeting located at the heart of Madrid. Very well communicate with city transport system. Metro, Trains, High Speed Lines, local buses and taxi stop. Special bus service to Adolfo Suárez Airport. And directly connected to Méndez Álvaro bus station by train and 102 bus service where you can take buses to almost all Spanish and Europeans cities. A large selection of cafeterias and restaurants. Shopping stores with articles you might need to keep on your travel.
  • This is the main gate to get in or leave the city centre by high speed train or AVE as they call it here. If you want to kill time take a stroll under the giant glass and metal structure and you will be surprised to discover a tropical garden filled with several thousand plants, including 260 different species from America, Asia, and Australia. If you look closer you will also find a lovely pond plenty of funny turtles. The dream will end when it's time to ask for assistance..no one speaks English :(
  • Even though it is a train station, it can also serve as a visit spot to chill out and relax. I mean there is literally a great palm paradise at the lobby of the train station. It even has mini turtles and fishes in fish tanks.
  • Astronomical prices whilst waiting for the high speed trains. No lift when moving between train lines! You're in trouble if you're disabled or travel with a buggy or lots of luggage. Lovely rest areas, particularly the gardens
