  • Love this little museum. I think it costs about 6 euros. A little bit of something for everyone. Coins, artwork, textiles, jewelry, and an impressive armory upstairs. Really enjoyed seeing the variety...  more »

  • I was surprised a lot! Accustomed to the great museums of Madrid, is House Museum offers a collection of art, sculpture, jewelry, and European painting of a great quality. Also highly recommended APP that has a free guide with the major works from the permanent collection. The staff of a kindness and incredible attention. I recommend it!

  • Really interesting place. It's unbelievable to see what one person is able to collect during his life!! You wont find here just paintings but also sculptures, jewellery, weapons, textiles etc... I truly enjoyed my time in this mansion. The building itself is soo beautiful... I appreciated also little photos of how all the rooms looked when Mr. Galdiano lived there. In fact I secretly wished this museum wasn't about his collection... I wished I could see how Mr. Galdiano lived (furniture, items he used etc...) After visit it was also pleasure to sit in the garden. I just didn't like that you must visit the rooms in the exact order. The staff didn't let me enjoy my visit, stopped me in the middle and told me in which direction I should go. I mean... nobody cares if they see first room number 7 or 11, common... It would be ridiculous to say visitors in Museo del Prado in which order they are supposed to go too...
  • Great museum in the Salamanca district. No crowds and very interesting exhibitions.
  • Go there if you re around. It s not an option. It s a must. And it will be a shame if you could and did not. Really. It s a great collection.
  • Most exquisite collection of art. Very impressive, a must see!
  • Museo Lázaro Galdiano is one ofthe hidden gems of Madrid. A nice palace located in the mid Serrano street, corner with María de Molina, shows the rich collection ofvaried objects of a wealthy Lázaro Galdiano and his wife, Paula Florido. After a careful renovation, the Museum updated its exhibition rooms. Inside, yu get an idea of how life was for the noblity in XIXth century Madrid, along with surprises like a good collection of Goya's paintings. Take a look to its curious elevator, I love it! They are very active in activities and events, and it's always a good option for an arty Saturday morning, away from the typical places. I good place to discover... And don't forget that faceing the building you have Cafetería José Luis , ideal to make a stop while you sample great tapas.

The Spanish capital is known for its array of distinct neighborhoods each with its own appeal. An affordable and easy-to-navigate metro system, which makes it is easy to get around Madrid gives you more flexibility in choosing where to stay. Perhaps the most popular choice is Puerta del Sol, the heart of the city center and one of the main tourist attractions with its numerous shops, affordable hotels, and restaurants. Close by is Gran Via street, one of the city's main arteries, which is also home to a number of hotels. A short walk from here is Plaza España where the city's most iconic landmarks lie, including the Royal Palace and the Teatro Royal. For somthing outside the traditional tourist areas, consider staying in La Latina or Malasaña, two bohemian neighborhoods that offer a wide range of eclectic shops, quaint cafes, and lively bars.
