  • It is a House Museum with wonderful gardens, perfect if you like art, but don't want to spend hours and hours in crowded rooms.

  • Such an incredible museum. It was once the home of the impressionist painter Joaquin Sorolla. His work is stunning and the house itself is beautiful. You walk through a garden to get to the house, and inside you can see, among other things, his studio and an exhibition with photos following Sorolla's life. It's a wonderful museum that's easy to miss, but I highly recommend it!
  • I'm not usually a fan of fine arts museums, but this one is in my barrio so I felt obliged to go. I'm sad I didn't go sooner, it really was quite a good collection of a talented painter's work. What pushes this over the edge from good to great is the simple fact that you are actually in Sorolla's family's house, and walking through the rooms where he kept his paintings. You can see how he and his family lived, because you're there. The fine arts museum of Valencia, unfortunately, can't compete. (Although you should visit all the same if you like Sorolla. It's why I decided to visit this museum in the first place!)
  • Sorolla's home and studio. Wonderful collection of his paintings and other art works. Beautiful Patio Andaluz.
  • You start by entering the well decorated garden with some fountains and lots of different trees and plants. When you are a student and you have your student ID with you, you can enter for free. Otherwise it's only €3. I really like impressionism, the way the paintings were made. The atmosphere is pleasant, I really recommend this place, even if you are not really an art lover.
  • What's on offer here is pretty clear: you get to visit (most of) the villa where the artist and his family lived and many of his greatest paintings. For those who admire his work it's a an essential pilgrimage In 2016 there were renovation works on some stairs which meant we could only see half of it, but there is something very special about the place and seeing the works, paintings of his family, original furniture, and some of the equipment he used such as palette and brushes paints etc. The gift shop has an excellent selection of books which allow you to access photos of his entire catalogue, and it's a handy way to see other works not on display. What would be good would be to see his postcard sized studies on display, not just the grand works. For painters, and lovers of art, a great spot worth the walk. The surrounding areas feel very safe and there are one or two cafes nearby if you need to stop for a refreshment nearby. In good weather, the small manicured garden in a restful oasis with some charming sculptures.
