Segovia Aqueduct, Segovia

Admire original Roman architecture at Segovia Aqueduct, which is widely considered one of the most significant and best-preserved ancient monuments left in Spain. Marvel at the 166 stone arches of age-old engineering that transported water into the city for over 18 centuries. You can walk the entire 17 km (11 mi) of the aqueduct or just visit the portion that towers over the center of the city. Stop and have a coffee in Azoguejo Square, where the full splendor of this monument is visible. • I read that experts not put of agreement as to the date of construction of the aqueduct... What more gives... it is amazing they could even think of making a work as well and that follow on foot as many centuries later

  • Symbol of the city, the aqueduct is really big and well maintained given the age. Point of departure and arrival of many tourists. worth a shot.

  • The place might have historical significance and it certainly is huge, but that's about it. There is nothing much to see here except a couple of photo spots. Visited this place while I was staying in Madrid. Around 1.5 hours by bus, very easy to reach here since there are buses every half an hour. However, I would suggest that this be as one of the last options to visit as a tourist. There is nothing special here.
  • Cool little town. Good for a day trip from Madrid. The Aqueduct was interesting how it goes through the city and impressive as well. You can climb stairs and get a good view from the top.
  • This aquaduct took my breath away. You can see it from so far away and it's just absolutely incredible to see. Would highly recommend climbing to the top for an incredible picture.
  • Segovia is an amazing site seeing spot! You can eat snagging cochinillo just about anywhere, there are tons of historical features and it's a quick train ride from Madrid. Asking the strict there are lots of choices for food and photo ops for those of you that like that. Highly recommended!
  • We'll worth the short train ride from Madrid. You can easily spend a day here and fill it up between the aqueducts, cathedral and alcazar.
