Located off of the Great Western Highway, Katoomba is the main hub of the City of Blue Mountains.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Thu): admire the masterpieces at Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum, admire the sheer force of Wentworth Falls, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at The National Pass. On the next day, take in the awesome beauty at Blue Mountains, then admire the natural beauty at Everglades Historic House and Gardens, then get great views at The Three Sisters, and finally make a trip to Echo Point Lookout.

You can do a combination of bus, flight, and train from Noosa to Katoomba in 6 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and car; or do a combination of bus and train. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel to Cairns.

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Step out of the city life by going to Scuba & Snorkeling and Four Mile Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cairns: Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas (in Port Douglas) and Palm Cove (Hartley's Crocodile Adventures & Palm Cove Beach). There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Esplanade Boardwalk, take advantage of the amenities at Esplanade Lagoon Pool, and kick your exploration up a notch at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks.

Getting from Katoomba to Cairns by combination of train, flight, and taxi takes about 6 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 82°F in May, and nighttime lows around 68°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 31st (Wed) early enough to travel to Brisbane.

Kick off your visit on the 31st (Wed): admire the masterpieces at Queensland Art Gallery, then see the interesting displays at Queensland Museum & Sciencentre, and then explore and take pictures at Suncorp Stadium.
